Sisters Unite

By Sydney Green

When did it become okay to tear other Black women down?

As if we do not get enough hate from the oppressors and hoteps.

This is not a world that takes too kindly to us.

We are fetishized, ostracized, and eroticized,
but still we are expected to take care of everyone else.

As if our wounds are not deep enough…

Well, I say it is ENOUGH!

Do not make your sisters cry,
but help her wipe her eyes.

 We are strong Black women
a force to be reckoned with

so let us empower each other
instead of helping the oppressors and hoteps
