Profiles (biographies of Ohio State instructors, students, faculty, and alumni)
Student organization spotlights
Poems
Commentary/Opinion Pieces
Artwork (i.e. drawings, paintings, graphics, etc.)
Photo (Single photographs and galleries
Personal essays
The theme for this year’s print edition is Family Matters. Every Buckeye comes from a unique background. However, we all have common goals and struggles that tie us together. We are looking for stories, poems, and artwork that showcases what “family” means to the Ohio State community. Has your club volleyball coach become like a parent to you? Did you find a new church home among a campus bible study group? Have you found a community in your natural hair organization that meets every other week? Did you start a business with your roommate from freshman year! We want to hear about it!
Family can come from a literal perspective, or a symbolic perspective. However, all pieces must have a connection to Ohio State in order to be featured. Ideas for written pieces and submissions for visual pieces can be emailed to blackxboldmag@gmail.com with ‘PRINT EDITION’ in the subject line. Pitches for written content have to be discussed in-person or submitted by google form. All written content must be submitted by November 6 at 11:59 p.m. to be considered. Visual content is also due by November 6.
